About

Here at Hit the Mark Archery, we are driven by a single goal; to foster and promote archery among youth, family and adults as a means of fellowship, pleasure, healthful recreation, competitive competitions and physical fitness.

Our coaches are Certified in USA, NASP, ASA, NFAA, and S3DA.

Why Archery?

It does not require archers to be athletically gifted. In fact the next Olympic Champion can really come from anyone who is passionate about archery. In competition, there are also opportunities

for archers to compete individually as well as in teams. So from your best athlete to the physically challenged children — all can enjoy and benefit from this age-old sport.

Benefits of Archery

The physical aspect of the sport is an excellent way to:

  • Develop upper body strength

  • Improve hand-eye coordination

  • Hone fine motor skills

The social aspect of the sport of archery is an excellent way to

  • Improve social skills
  • Build individual skills and confidence
  • Build Team building skills

The spiritual aspect of the sport is an excellent way to

  • Strengthen trust in God & others

  • Augment personal patience

  • Realize we need help

The mental aspect of the sport is an excellent way to

  • Increase concentration

  • Develop self-discipline

  • Build self-esteem

Is Archery Safe?

YES! Statistically, archery is one of the safest sports. In a study conducted by the Archery Trade Association, archery was found to have one of the lowest injury rates right next to tennis and bowling.

How is this possible even with young archers? Well, it is due to rules and procedures that are in place to keep everyone safe. Through NASP and USA training programs, coaches are trained to run safe and fun archery ranges. They learn how to setup their range properly, enforce the Range Commands, and teach the Curriculum, and coach/instruct for tournament competitions. Before students even touch a bow, they must go through a series of drills and activities while following whistle commands and range rules. Not only does this prepare them to shoot a bow, but it also teaches them to be disciplined in following the range rules and protocols.

Hit the Mark Archery, HtM, is a “social, educational and recreational club to create a qualified amateur sports organization” which fosters local, state, national, and international competition in the sport of archery by encouraging participation, development, growth, and competition in/of Olympic Archery, Junior Olympic Archery, Special Olympic Archery, Field Archery, 3-D Archery, and Collegiate Archery within the meaning of section 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4) and 501(j) of the Internal Revenue Code. The fellowship of HtM members are bound together by the common objective of fostering pleasure and recreation through personal contact, commingled instruction and practice, and competition in the sport of archery. HtM is a non-profit corporation organized and pursuant of license under the laws of the State of Georgia.

Athlete Training

One Practice at a TIME

Archery is where youth or adult participates in a sport, develops strong problem solving skills, increases their focus and determination, learns goal setting, builds confidence and creates friendships that will last a lifetime.Do you have what it takes to be a champion archer?

  1. A strong passion for the sport of archery - an all-consuming love that makes everything else pale in comparison to the fun you have shooting your bow and arrows.

  2. Excellent work ethic - must want to work hard in order to reach your goals.

  3. Coachability -"Archers who have “coachability” are engaged in their archery journey, and willing to work with their coach to reach their goals. When a coach makes a recommendation, the archer asks appropriate questions, works on the change, and follows up for more help as needed."  (https://www.archery360.com/2014/10/15/have-olympic-archery-dreams-3-traits-you-should-develop/)

  4. Failure is not the end, RATHER just the beginning - not allowing failure to be the end, but learning from mistakes
